Secrets to mastering the post-slope glow

Lets face it, we spend a lot of time outside with our skin exposed to wind, sun, and the cold winter weather on a daily basis. Sooner or later we’re going to look in the mirror and see the cumulative effects of all our great times on skis marking up our faces like the bunny hill after a “free lessons” promotion. None of us will entirely escape this fate, but we can reduce the damage by taking action as early as we can.

Here are a few skincare tips to remember before and after a day on a slopes (or simply a cold day in Colorado, if you are like me and taking the ‘stay-cation’ route this year.)

  • Lip balm
  • Schussing down the mountains means a lot of wind in your face — and that wind is going to leave your lips super dry. Ready to combat dry lips?  Ormedic Balancing Lip Enhancement Complex is a super moisturizing lip balm with added antioxidants and cell-communicating agents. Packaged in a squeeze tube, this fragrance-free formula hydrates lips with avocado oil and rich antioxidant Vitamin E to provide a rich emollient for rehydrated lips.

    sunscreen-01
  • SPF
  • The high sun on the trails and the glare off the snow means you need SPF on the slopes just as much as you would at the beach. Prevention + daily hydrating moisturizer spf 30: Long-lasting, deep moisturizer for dry/dehydrated and sensitive/rosacea prone skin combined with a broad-spectrum high UVA/UVB sun protection. The sheer formula spreads easily and evenly without any residue and is enriched with a blend of anti-oxidants, vitamins and green tea for an anti-inflammatory kick. This sunscreen provides ultimate protection and prevention against the aging effects of the sun and is Paraben and chemical free!

  • Heavy Duty Face Cream
  • Stepping on the slopes requires you to step up your level of hydration. You’ll need a more emollient one than your usual everyday formula and one that will hold up to the elements. Apply a good even layer of the Vital C Hydrating Enzyme Masque after your shower or bath while you are cozy in your bathrobe and sipping a cup of hot tea- this is the perfect time to boost the moisture in your face with a hydrating face mask. This mask works best if worn overnight while you sleep, but if you are heading to a cocktail party or dinner, apply a thin layer to your skin, leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes to allow for your skin to absorb the product and then wipe off the excess with a tissue.

    vital-moisturizer-01
  • Moisturizer
  • Now it’s time to resupply moisture to your face! VITAL C hydrating intense moisturizer is an ultra hydrating intense moisturizer crème that immediately replenishes moisture. This silky formula restores youthful resilience for perfectly polished and glowing skin.

  • MakeUp

Even though you’re on the slopes, you’ll still want your skin to look flawless for all those apres ski events- I CONCEAL flawless foundation is an all-in-one illuminating, lightweight and water-resistant natural skin foundation that heals and conceals revealing a healthier, flawless complexion.

Apply on its on or blend it with your moisturizer for a lighter application.
