Ever wonder what the skincare routine of an esthetician looks like? Wonder no more!

We asked our lovely skincare specialist and lead esthetician, Samantha, to share her daily skincare routine with us. Here’s what it looks like, in her own words:

I know I have a pretty in depth skincare regimen, but you do not have to do all these steps to have great skin. A girl’s best friends are a good cleanser, an eye cream and SPF. If you live in Colorado there’s a good chance you can relate to feeling dry. Use a cleanser for your skin type that won’t strip it away completely. Keep your skin hydrated to reduce redness and have glowing skin. Prevent against aging effects of the sun with a good SPF. I also try my hardest to drink lots of water and have at least one cup of green tea a day. Take some time to develop a skincare routine that works for you. With a little work, you can achieve a beautiful healthy glow, no matter what your skin type.

cleanse

As some of my clients know, I am prone to breakouts and I have a dry/normal skin type. My skincare routine is very effective for keeping my acne under control. I prefer to have both an active cleanser and gentle cleanser to switch on and off with.

I wash my face in the evening and in the morning I always leave my natural oils on. A lot of people over wash their skin, at which point it gets dry and irritated. Your natural oils are so good for skin; you don’t want to strip them away all the time.

MD Reconstructive Cleanser

I love the MD reconstructive cleanser because it has both AHA and BHA – it gently exfoliants and gets all my makeup off.

Ormedic Cleanser

For my less active days, I use the Ormedic cleanser. All of Image Skincare’s cleansers will cleanse, exfoliate and tone. This 3-in-1 system is amazing because it preps the skin for what’s ahead.

Iluma Intense Brightening Exfoliating Powder

Three times a week I follow my cleanser up with the Iluma Intense Brightening Exfoliating Powder. This is a coconut powder enzyme that is a must have at all times for me!

serum

Iluma Intense Lightening Serum

After I get my skin squeaky clean I pat on the Iluma Intense Lightening Serum. The vitamin c and grape seed extract heals my blemishes and calms my skin.

Ormedic Balancing Antioxidant Serum

Some days I switch up the Iluma serum with Ormedic Balancing Antioxidant Serum for the extra hydration and peptides!

eye creme

Image makes my favorite eye cream really hard to pick because they are all so great! I am constantly rotating them and go through the Image rainbow. With my skin type being dry, sometimes it becomes sensitive depending on the season and my recent treatments. I usually keep two eye creams handy:

Max Stem Cell Eye Creme

Max Stem Cell Eye Creme contains high concentrations of plant stem cells to protect and prevent aging.

Iluma Intense Brightening Eye Creme

The gentler eye creme I like is Iluma Intense Brightening Eye Creme: it lightens, brightens and illuminates.

repair

To seal in my serum and eye cream, I always follow with a moisturizer.

MD Reconstructive Repair Creme

In the evening I love the MD Reconstructive Repair Creme. Retinol is fantastic for anti-aging and dry skin. I typically use it four nights of the week.

Ormedic Bio-peptide Creme

The other three nights I use the Ormedic Bio-peptide Creme to balance and restore my skin.

day time

Image Sunscreen

Daily Hydrating Moisturizer SPF 30

During the day I use the Daily Hydrating Moisturizer SPF 30

I Conceal Flawless Foundation.

I have never used so little makeup in my life. This concealer is by far the best one I have ever come across – one pump is all I need to cover and even my skin tone.
