Last week, we discussed the question of whether Peptides, the current skincare “it” ingredient,  are worth all the hype (missed the post? just click here). Today, our Esthetician Anna will tell you a little more about peptides and what types of peptides you can find in skincare products.

There are generally three kinds of Peptides: those that inhibit, promote, or deliver. Similar to Botox or Dysport, some peptides can inhibit muscle contraction, but are a topical alternative to the injectables. Most common, the promoting peptides can stimulate collagen, elastin, and other compounds in the skin, and reduce inflammation. The results can be reducing wrinkle depth, reducing under-eye puffiness and bags under the eyes, and helping to produce younger-looking skin. The delivery peptides help to facilitate the transport of the above-mentioned agents to the site where they are needed.

Over time, these peptides all work together for super results-oriented products, helping you to Age Later.  But don’t be hasty- these types of products need to be used for at least a month to see the results you want (some longer), but once you do, you will not be disappointed!

Here at Barris, we carry Image Skincare, which prides itself on scientifically-advanced formulas focused on results. Nearly all of the products in Image’s line contain peptide blends of various types, so it is simple to find something that will suit your needs. Whether it’s a cleanser like “The Max” Stem Cell Cleanser, a serum like the Ageless Anti-Aging Serum,  an eye cream like the Ormedic Balancing Eye Lift Gel, or a night cream like the MD Reconstructive Repair Cream, we have the Image products you want.
