Red light therapy (also referred to as RLT and LED Light Therapy) aims to solve skin issues by using low wavelength red light on the epidermis, which is the outer layer of skin. When the light is applied to your skin, the epidermis absorbs it and then stimulates collagen proteins. More collagen means that your skin will look smoother and fuller, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. RLT is also thought to reduce inflammation while improving circulation, which can give you a healthier glow.
If you use medications such as Tetracycline, Digoxin (used for heart irregularities) and photosensitizing drugs (e.g., tranquilizers, sulfa drugs, oral anti-diabetic drugs, antidepressants, and steroids), please consult your physician before using Red Light.
Yes, makeup can be worn and should not affect the performance of the therapy.
Red Light Therapy is a non-invasive treatment which, when correctly used, medical studies show to have no adverse side-effects. It has been used effectively for more than 15 years for both aesthetic and medical applications.
Unlike other types of light therapy, Red Lights produce a pure light wavelength and do not contain ultraviolet rays. This means they are safe for regular use and cannot cause sunburn or tanning of the skin.
Undergoing treatment feels like lying on the beach and basking in the sun – but without the harmful UV rays! Your skin should get no more than slightly warm, but the “glow” sensation can last hours after your treatment.
